Richard is a proven senior business leader.  During his 27-year career in the banking & finance industry, he held senior leadership positions in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and the UK. Richard now holds a number of key South Australian board positions, across multiple industries. Richard has an impressive educational record including Harvard Business School and is currently a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Richard brings to his role as the Chairman of the Advisory Board extensive business knowledge, a broad network and experience in leadership, governance and strategy.

Alex Cook

Alex brings over 35 years of experience across the full range of construction sectors and services. His experience includes management of organisations based in South Australia, as well as national and international. He has a strong focus on being able to provide end-to-end solutions for clients, providing direction and assistance through the concept and feasibility stage, right through to completion of construction.

As a Director of Cook Building, he provides leadership as well as hands on involvement in business development and organisational strategy.

Stephen Hansen

Stephen Hansen

Steve brings to the Advisory Board experience in construction management as well as strong network in the South Australian construction industry. His extensive on-ground construction experience provides a necessary link between the high level leadership of the Advisory Board and the challenges of day-to-day operations. As well as his role on the Advisory Board, Steve is active in the business in project management and mentoring of junior personnel.

Peter Basedow

Peter’s 35 years of professional experience brings diversity to the organisation in the areas of financial management and governance from various industries, including construction, not-for-profit, manufacturing and hospitality.

As the CEO, Peter leads the Senior Management Group on day to day operations of Cook Building, as well as provides the necessary link to the Advisory Board of Directors.

With a notable career in the construction industry, Chris has held executive positions with major South Australian and National construction companies. His personable and professional approach promotes collaboration and communication with all project stakeholders, ensuring successful project delivery and quality outcomes for clients.

Todd Atkinson

Todd Atkinson

Todd provides over 20 years of construction industry experience with the majority of these being in an estimating role. Through this time he has had exposure to all industry sectors and procurement methodologies.

Tom Broderick

Tom Broderick

Tom provides over a decade of experience working as a Project Manager and Construction Manager in the South Australian construction industry with a Bachelor in Construction Management and Economics. Tom’s project experience covers a variety of delivery methodologies and project scales.  His personable and professional approach promotes collaboration and communication with all project stakeholders to ensure delivery outcomes and requirements are achieved.

Cameron Sumpter

Cameron Sumpter

Cameron has a strong background in Management Systems, including Compliance and Risk management, and Project Management from a range of industries including Tourism, Mining and Construction. His roles at Cook Building have included Project Manager on a range of commercial projects, and he now oversees our WHS, Quality, Finance, Human Resources and IT operations.
