Cook Building is proud to be part of UnitingSA’s new community housing development providing safe and affordable accommodation for women aged 55 or older, who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness. The development includes 8x two-bedroom single-storey homes, each with their own enclosed carport.
Architect, City Collective, envisioned a bespoke design that would distinguish the home from other affordable housing. This was achieved through the use of three different cladding materials – corrugated iron, wood-look panelling and brick. Gabled roofing add a beautiful touch to the homes, while a communal pergola encourages residents to connect.
Notably, the Ferryden Park project was named the winner of two Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) SA Awards for Excellence in the Small Scale Development category as well as the Aged Care & Community Housing category.
