WINNER – 2015 Master Builders Awards – Excellence in a Commercial/Industrial Building $2m to $5m.

Following the commencement of the base building upgrade at 2 King William Street, an opportunity was identified by the Palmer Group to construct a rooftop bar in this building to capitalise on a unique opportunity. In partnership with the Building’s Owner, the Duxton Group, the concept began to take form.

Cook Building took a lead role in collaborating with the client, architect, certifiers, and local authorities, to convert the visions into a reality. This process required significant levels of transparency and collaboration by all parties. This experience and understanding of buildability was crucial to navigate the challenges of the project, into an award winning result.

The final solution involved the construction of a new structural steel deck just below the existing parapet level with structural steel framed loggia & bar, a new kitchen area contained within the northern stair/service area, a new toilet on the existing roof, a new fire stair and new lift to extend the access to the new roof terrace.

This project showcases our ability to build relationships, through providing solutions for the needs of our clients, in a turnkey environment, from feasibility, right through to end use occupation.
