After completing the new build of an Early Learning Centre and Innovation Resource Centre, Cook Building returned to Mount Barker Waldorf School for the extensive refurbishment and extension of an existing art building. External works included replacing the dilapidated roof and installing radial-sawn timber cladding, while spotted gum flooring and feature timber windows were installed internally. Several electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components were also upgraded to suit the needs of the new spaces.
As works occurred during the school term, staff and student safety was our top priority and several measures were taken to ensure they were kept safe whilst construction works took place. A comprehensive risk assessment formed the basis of the safety culture on site, as well as careful program scheduling to minimise disruption to school operations.
