In 2021, Cook Building completed the construction of a childcare centre for Nido Early School. Located on busy South Road, two existing properties were demolished to make way for a single-storey modern childcare centre catering for up to 80 kids. Incorporated into the design are four large activity rooms providing inviting environments for children to explore, learn and play. A commercial kitchen has also been built, along with a light-filled dining area. Featured externally are two sizeable and engaging play areas, encouraging skill development through interactive play and sensory experiences.

With little room outside of the project footprint, a great amount of consideration went into crucial site logistics such as site access, delivery and loading zones, subcontractor parking, and materials and equipment storage. Prior to the commencement of work, the project team extensively planned for each of these factors and a great deal of coordination with adjacent businesses was required to avoid disruptions to their day-to-day operations. Preparation for proper traffic management and provision of diversion routes for pedestrians were also included in the pre-construction plan.
